Inner peace is a beautiful state of mind and heart to have and to function from. When you have it, it feels so good like listening to waves coming up on a shore or when you sit around a campfire. Inner peace opens up a pathway of the mind to think clearly and that is where good decisions come and opportunities can flow. You probably have not had a super idea or opportunity come to you in the middle of an angry state of mind or argument. But you have had when you have inner peace, when you have internal quietness, the goodness of Gods wisdom and strength flows through as God is good all the time. Start to become aware of how to get into that mental calm, ready to receive.
You might be thinking I hear what you’re saying but you don’t know what I am going through, the bills, my job, relationships. It’s hard to fine inner peace as anxiousness surrounds me. First we need to understand that we are a product of our inner most dominant thoughts held in the mind long enough that we start to believe them about ourselves and our circumstances. The body is an instrument of the mind. We have all experienced it in one way or another. Most of the time it was unintentional and we were a product of negative self talk and continuously thinking negative doubtful thoughts.
Scripture is clear on this matter. Philippians 4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. 6: Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplications with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. 7: And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension shall guard your hearts and your mind in Christ Jesus 8: Finally brother whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.
Keeping your mind fixed on the positive things that Apostle Paul was speaking of which are the characteristics of God himself will effectively over shadow and eliminate the effects of negative thoughts. That’s how you change it. You let your mind “dwell” stay put on that focused track regardless of what it may look like. The unseen is more real than the seen. Nothing is as it appears.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for the conviction of things not seen.
It’s there and then that you will experience that peace that surpasses all understanding. It’s not for an hour here or there or on Sunday morning in church. It is a continues reprogramming where you will replace negative with positive thoughts. Use this writing as an opportunity that you have been given the gift of your mind from God for you to use as a tool to shape your life as you want it to be. You no longer have to settle for what has been when you understand and get emotional attached to the truth that when you dwell on the things of God which are all good because He is good, your life will change for the better.
Your friend always,
Cindy
