PURPOSE *** VISION **** GOAL journey ....So here it is, I hope it helps!
Early on I was using my purpose, vision and goals unconsciously and I am going to guess you have been as well. Read my story and see if you haven't experienced the same.
In my teens I LOVED riding and showing horses, I would sit and look at the horse journals and picture myself doing what I saw. Getting close to HS graduation I told my father I wanted to go to Boulder CO to their Equine program so I could manage barns and ride all the time. Sounded like a good plan to me. My father said he was not paying for me to go out of state to school and I sure wasn't taken my horse. He said I could go to business school in MO. and get a job that paid money. I allowed my dream of years to be stolen and I chose not to go to school so I went to work instead.
When in my twenties I purchased a BBQ restaurant that I was a waitress at. WHY? I watched the owner get nice things and I was at a spot in my life that I did not have what I wanted. So I thought this must be the key, I need to buy this restaurant, so I did! No experience of owning anything, no college, no cooking experience, just a burning desire for things to be different in my life. I remember my mother saying why are you buying a restaurant you don't know HOW to cook. I learned quickly!! LOL
In one year I doubled the profits, extended the building, I was on a roll, why, because I was LOVING what I was doing. What was I actually doing? Now that I know to connect the dots backwards for understanding, I was providing quality service with quality product for the people who came in to eat. For those who worked for me I created an environment that encouraged them to value their selves and others.
In the meantime I got into alternative medicine. LOVED it. What was I doing? Connecting the dots backwards I was providing quality service with quality products that encouraged people to help themselves and feel better.
My life when connected backwards has always been wrapped around providing quality services to people for the better of themselves and others. The common denominator starting revealing itself. I LOVE being around and encouraging people in some fashion. I challenge you to do the same. Connect the dots backwards so your forward has more purposeful meaning.
VISION:
I had been a visionary and didn't know it. Most people just want you to get on with life. They say dreams and visions are for children and don't come true anyway, right, have you heard that? That is from someone who has not ever done it and is obviously not living their dream.
Remember Purpose leads to Vision, Vision leads to the Goal.
My purpose is providing quality service through teaching that encourages growth for the mind body and spirit. My VISION is how to express my purpose.
I personally do that through teaching classes, coaching, speaking engagements etc.
.Write your vision as an inspiring story of what it looks like for your purpose to come to life. Ask yourself what things would I do, where, with whom, why, giving you what feeling and emotion?
Vision off course: I use to could never say NO Thank You to anything, I thought I had to do it all and I was on a spiritual treadmill that wore out. When I came to the truth that God was going to love me just the same even when I wasn't everywhere for everybody my whole life changed, but not overnight. I had been programmed to serve and serve and serve some more and he will be so pleased with me that everything will just work out. That did not happen for me. That's is another story!
Vision on course:
At this point on my journey I have concentrated focus due to my daily self development of gratitude, studying and training. My vision is clear because I write and say it everyday! I was not always this committed, I would do it and not and that is the results that I was getting and I didn't like that. So I got committed and in the process I grew to love myself, know who I am and where I am going and it feels so good!
GOALS:
Now your ready to set your goals with an awareness of meaning and purpose.
Your goals help you to fulfill your vision. I have set a BIG BIG goal that i have no idea how it will ever come to pass. Then I set goals that help me to achieve my vision.
Set goals on Career/Wealth * Relationships * Spirituality * Physical ( health , fitness, wellness)
Goal cards: I write a goal on a card and carry it with me, put up in my office, on a mirror to greet me daily. Then when it comes to pass I put it a goal holding pottery vase I personal made.
You can't get to the top of the ladder unless you leave the bottom.
I hope you have found this helpful. If you have any questions or comments leave them and I will do my best to provide you with my suggestions.
Keep loving yourself,
Cindy
